Rowland Kinch - Chief Executive Officer

Rowland is a seasoned executive with a solid reputation for achieving corporate growth objectives through providing strategic direction, diverse perspectives and positive leadership.

Rowland has a varied background in business having begun his career in construction project management at the tender age of just 17, before branching out into Residential care homes and the development of the hugely successful Custodian Data Centres.

Having purchased The Maidstone Studios in 2002, along with business partner Geoff Miles, Rowland has cemented his reputation as proven operations strategist using his business acumen to ensure the Studios remains the largest wholly independent studios, attracting many of the leading UK production companies and TV favourites to its doors.

Along with steering the Maidstone Studios in its long term strategic direction , Rowland plays a vital role in the day to day management of the Studio Resources team to ensure the pivotal goals of business are met , Happy staff, Happy Customers.

Having completed his MBA with a distinction at the same time as building his business empire Rowland is the embodiment of a true multi-tasker.

Geoff Miles - Chairman

An entertainment industry veteran with more than 40 years’ experience, Geoff boasts a distinguished and varied background in producing and directing in all areas of television and boasts a firm reputation as an industry leader.

Prior to his purchase of the Maidstone Studios in 2002, with his business partner Rowland Kinch, Geoff worked primarily for the BBC alongside industry greats such as Bob Hope, Elton John and Tommy Cooper. His exceptional accomplishments within the industry earned him an honorary “Master of Arts” degree from the University for the Creatives Arts in 2012.

Since purchasing the Studios in 2002, Geoff has used his impeccable diplomatic and negotiation skills to ensure the Studios is known as a hub of creative talent and leading the development of our flagship HD studio , Studio 1.

Going above and beyond his duties as chairman at the Studios. Geoff holds numerous titles and roles across the county, not only efficaciously promoting the studios; he is renowned for endorsing all local business in Kent. A hands on manager, Geoff oversees the Studios production teams guaranteeing a powerful strategic plan to make Maidstone studios a competitive alternative to production owned TV studios.

Given Geoff’s hugely successful career and un-paralleled work for local business, it is hardly surprising he was awarded the title “Deputy Lieutenant of Kent”.

Carly Watson- Head Of Studio Promotions

Carly has a vast and diverse background within the media industry, after graduating with a degree in media and cultural studies she began her career in production on SM:TV and CD:UK.

Following a stint in transmission and VT operating, Carly moved into editing where her passion for TV Creation grew leading her into postproduction in Soho.

Just prior to her move to Maidstone Studios, Carly spent many a magical year working at the Disney Channel on programming and franchise development before taking the leap into Head of Studio promotions here at the Maidstone Studios.

As our Head of Studio Promotion, Carly is responsible for delivering a wide reaching series of campaigns to promote the brand and manage all internal and external communications relating to marketing and promotion. Carly proves daily that she can thrive in a complex technical environment and that she is passionate about delivering high quality promotional campaigns on a regional, national and international scale.

Carly is Positive, happy and diplomatic making her the perfect person to promote the Maidstone Studios brand.

Liz Bell - Office Manager

Liz Joined the Studios as the Office accountant having amassed an impressive 20 years’ experience within the industry.

Her flair for organization and motivating leadership style swiftly became apparent moving Liz away from pure accountancy and into Office management.

Liz ensures the smooth organization of all people, information and recourses at Maidstone Studios assisting in the development and implementation of the firm’s policies and procedures and maintaining an overall view of the organizational structure, workforce, facilities and all administration needed for Maidstone Studios to accomplish its goals and objectives.

Liz is often the first voice that you hear when you call and the first smiling face you see when you enter the office.

Alastair Smith - Technical Manager

Alastair boasts a wealth of experience within a technically complex environment and has a solid track record for successful delivery of all projects.

Having begun his career training with the BBC, Alastair went on to work across numerous radio and television productions gaining vast experience in transmission, comms, VT radio links and outside broadcast.

Prior to joining us in 2006, Alistair worked extensively abroad. Throughout his time in NYC and Washington he worked as an EBU Engineer setting up editing and playout facilities worldwide and during his stint in Germany Alistair operated in outside broadcasts and satellite news gathering, planning and operation of small multi-camera, self-contained, OB/ Satellite trucks.

His extensive knowledge of production may be the reason Alastair is known as something of a “tech guru” within our Studios.

Josh Sargeant - Front of House & Events Manager

Josh joined Maidstone Studios with extensive knowledge of the FMCG industry and a passion for customer service. Having worked his way up to Snr Management level of a well-known and established brand, Josh brought with him strong organizational and communication skills and a wealth of experience working within strict procedural controls.

Josh began working with us in 2016, working solely with the events side of the business successfully managing a wide range of events, from corporate meetings to fully catered events with in excess of 100 guests.

Josh is now part of a focused and dynamic production and facilities team within Maidstone Studios that deliver a multi-faceted, coordinated and excellently managed service to all production companies.

Josh’s calm yet confident demeanor is a huge asset especially when a broadcast is going live in 5..4..3…

Dave Parker - Facilities Manager

Prior to joining the Maidstone Studios ,in early 2016 , Dave managed and maintained a high level secure site having amassed over 20 years’ experience in the building and construction Industry with a solid track record of delivering project at a pace . Beginning his career in construction Dave went on to obtain knowledge, skills and qualifications in all areas of the industry including IOSH, CDCD Construction site and NEBOSH.

Since joining the Maidstone Studios, Dave has taken over the management of a varied and complex workload and in 2017, along with his operational and strategic team, secured the BSI 18001 health and safety certification for the studios.

Dave consistently demonstrates a professional manner, strong negotiation and delegation skills and a true understanding of the site needs and requirements.

Dave maintains that it is possible to be a health and safety expert and an all-around fun guy.

Alex Rudge – Broadcast Engineer

Alex began his accomplished career shortly after graduating Solent University in 2001 with a degree in broadcast engineering and now boasts over 20 years extensive experience and expertise in the broadcasting world.

Prior to Joining the Maidstone studios Alex put his un-paralleled technical knowledge of lighting , Sound, Camera to good use working with High Profile production companies and TV shows such as the Bill as well as working alongside Sporting heavy hitters including The FA, UEFA an The RFU.

Since joining Maidstone Studios, Alex has an become invaluable member of the technical team, working alongside our client base to ensure all of their video and audio technical requirements are not only met but exceeded. Alex ensures the setup and organization of the production galleries and studio infrastructure is seamless.

Alex has been at the forefront of broadcast engineering since the start of his career making him the perfect person to trust with our clients comprehensive and far reaching broadcasting needs.
